The 3 Days Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour is a guided tour that takes you through the beautiful desert landscape of Morocco, starting in the city of Fes and ending in Marrakech. On the first day, you will be picked up from Fes and taken on a journey through the Atlas Mountains and the valley of Ziz, stopping at local Berber villages and the Todgha Gorge along the way. After arriving in the desert, you will have the opportunity to explore the desert on a camel trek and spend the night in a traditional Berber desert camp.
On the second day, you will wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes and then have breakfast before heading to the city of Erfoud, known for its fossil mines. From Erfoud, you will continue to the oasis town of Tinghir and the Todra Gorge, where you will have lunch and explore the beautiful scenery. In the evening, you will continue to the city of Dades, where you will spend the night.
On the final day, you will leave Dades and head to the city of Marrakech, passing through the High Atlas Mountains and the beautiful Tizi N’Tichka Pass. Once in Marrakech, you will have the opportunity to explore the city’s famous markets, palaces, and gardens. The tour typically includes transportation, a camel trek, accommodation in a traditional Berber desert camp, meals, and a local guide. It is a great way to experience the unique culture and natural beauty of Morocco while also getting a taste of traditional desert life.
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Atlas Mountains – Merzouga:
The departure from your Riad/Hotel in Fes will be by an air-conditioned van at 8 AM. We will travel in the direction of Erg Chebbi sand dunes which will take about eight hours. We will have a chance to see the picturesque Atlas Mountains, along with going through some villages/towns such as Tifilat, Erfour, & Rissani. We will stop to visit some of the larger towns such as Ifrane and Azrou in order to take in the local culture, view the cedar woods, and watch the lively monkeys. Lunch, made from locally sourced ingredients, will be served in Midelt and then we will move on to the Ziz Valley where we will get a chance to see some of the Palm Tree Oases. When we arrive in Erg Chebbi that afternoon we will mount camels waiting for us. We will trek through the desert getting a chance to watch the sunset before arriving at our tent campsite, will be served dinner, watch the inspiring bright night stars, and then turn in for the night to our tents.
Day 2: Merzouga – Dades – Todgha Gorges – Tinghir :
After breakfast, we will leave the Erg Chebbi desert, take an off-road drive over the Hamadas (Black Desert), and reach the Saharan town of Rissani where we will have a chance to take in some of the local cultures. Subsequently, we will drive to Erfoud which is known for its fossil remains and we will have time to visit a local fossil workshop. We will continue on to the Todra Valley where we can trek the area which is known for its rock climbing. Subsequently, we will drive to the Dades Gorges where we refresh ourselves at our local hotel followed by having our authentic Moroccan dinner, and then turn in for the night.
Day 3: Dades canyons – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – hight Atlas Mountains – Marrakech:
We will have breakfast at our Dades Gorges hotel followed by traveling over the Thousand Kasbah Road, the Roses Valley, visiting Skoura Oasis with its incredible 17th century Kasbah, and spending some time in Ait Benhaddou which has been used by over 20 movies such as Game of Thrones and Lawrence of Arabia. We will eat lunch in the area, drive through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, and arrive in Marrakech at about 6:00 PM.
